Our Public Affairs practice was delighted to support Amnesty International’s Ambassador of Conscience Award 2013. The Ambassador of Conscience Award is Amnesty International’s highest honour, recognising individuals who have promoted and enhanced the cause of human rights through their life and by example. Past winners include Nelson Mandela and Mary Robinson.
The 2013 ceremony took place in Dublin where the achievements of Pakistani schoolgirl and education rights campaigner Malala Yousafzai and American singer, human rights and social justice activist Harry Belafonte were celebrated.
Our brief was to develop and coordinate a global communications plan to build the stature and profile of the award, to support the Amnesty International brand and to contribute to Amnesty International’s fundraising and campaigning goals.
Our work encompassed devising media messaging for the award, drafting press materials and resources, developing an online and social media strategy for the award, providing a press office function and conducting global media relations.
We secured global coverage of the award and the ceremony through online, social, print and broadcast media.
