Success for Electric Ireland at All Ireland Marketing Awards

Our client Electric Ireland was awarded the 2013 All Ireland Marketing Award for Best Sponsorship Management for their sponsorship of Team Ireland for London 2012. Electric Ireland needed to use its first high profile sponsorship to establish the new brand identity to all its external audiences. In a changing and highly competitive energy market, Electric Ireland also needed to differentiate their brand from the competition.

Working with the Sports team @ WH, the strategic approach was to position Electric Ireland as the energy behind Team Ireland. We knew that people were inspired and motivated by the Team Ireland athletes, and their dedication and the sacrifices they make in order to succeed in their sport. This insight underpinned our campaign which was built around the athletes journey to London 2012.

At the end of the campaign, Electric Ireland’s brand awareness had grown to 86%, and 93% are aware that Electric Ireland is part of ESB1 while Electric Ireland was the Best Known Sponsor of Team Ireland.
